# The club

## A bit of history

Summer 1933: The group was founded in Lausanne by the Vaud section of the AéCS.
August 1935: The "Cassel 12" glider takes flight—the group’s first construction.
The activity expanded, particularly at Les Pléiades and Les Rochers de Naye.
After the war, gliding continued to grow in close collaboration with the Geneva group.
June 11–21, 1946: 5th Swiss Championship in Bière.
With commercial traffic increasing at Cointrin and a lack of space at La Blécherette, the two groups were forced to find another site, which was established in Montricher.
