The club

A bit of history

  • Summer 1933: The group was founded in Lausanne by the Vaud section of the AéCS.
  • August 1935: The "Cassel 12" glider takes flight—the group’s first construction.
  • The activity expanded, particularly at Les Pléiades and Les Rochers de Naye.
  • After the war, gliding continued to grow in close collaboration with the Geneva group.
  • June 11–21, 1946: 5th Swiss Championship in Bière.
  • With commercial traffic increasing at Cointrin and a lack of space at La Blécherette, the two groups were forced to find another site, which was established in Montricher.
